Laura and I are in Taos, New Mexico for a writing conference. We arrived a few days early to explore and adjust to the altitude. Imagine our glee at seeing so many Obama signs (many hand made!)

So cool. A year ago today I was in Santa Fe celebrating the Marine Corps Birthday.

Have fun in Santa Fe...make sure you go to the Folk Lore Museum there. And of course, read! Willa Cather's Death Comes to the Archbishop.

She ASSIGNED Death Comes for the Archbishop so I've recently read it. We discuss it in class tomorrow. I like a writing teacher who knows that reading other authors enhances our own writing. How is your writing practice going? Ten minutes, GO!
