Barb, perhaps you could find a photo of the privet hedge on Oak Ridge Avenue. It is because of the one in Standstead and the one in Summit that I planted 150 privet bushes behind my perennial flower garden. For thirty-two years I dutifully pruned it...a bit narrower towards the top so the sun could hit it evenly down the sides...learned from Pat McKenna. There is great reverence in the care of a privet hedge...very Anglo Saxon! Thanks for the reminder!
