It's always an interesting and introspective moment!
And now for the Bowl Games!!! The Final, Final sales, Rose Bowl Parade....and other "must see and do" events. Just kidding! At least, how to avoid them.
Think of times before TV, internet, I-pods, html tags. Susie's mom was talking about growing up in an Ohio farmhouse w/out electricity on our trip to California. Not reflectively, just in a matter of fact way.
The bell reminded me of all that. Also of Mom's bells hung at Potton. Simple, lasting images.
and the "supper is dinner" bell that hailed Leni from the kitchen to ready our next course. There were several years there where were were all waited on!
Off to Maine for a couple of days to fetch Brad and Sylvia and return them to Boston for their flight home, hopefully without the histrionics of of their grand entrance!
yes, that bell in the tree was mom's.
I loved how she hung bells on her plants and on trees.
I don't think Boug ever donned one but the ficus did.
All gathered during her travels.
it is actually two bells. the lovely leaf shaped piece that caught the breeze was lost along the way, so I hung a smaller bell in it's place.
