today is somebody's birthday

Mom, John and I visited Donny in Thailand in 1965 where he was serving as a Peace Corps volunteer. The visit to Sukotai to see this huge Buddha made a lasting impression on me (I'm on the left in the photo)
As for the birthday boy, he's the one on the right.
Happy Birthday, Donny!!!
Thanks for always widening my horizons.
And remember...."Manilla is the pearl of the Orient!"
Love,
B.

Oh, Barb.

What a wonderful tribute to the wonderful soul who guided us through often stormy waters.

Thanks, Barb.

Thank you Donny...

Sixty Seven Rising

Orion faces the Big Dipper across a cobalt sky
It's up to us to wonder, not to reason why
Those here on Earth pay tribute to thee
At least those of us born on October twenty three
Are we Scorpios as some 'scopes would list
Or are we Libras, on the cusp, thus the scales to tip?
What's the use for us to think or ponder
Some say it's set for us, in the space out yonder
For me, over the horizon is where I like to see
How's that? That's impossible, it just can't be
Well, you can't. But that's the fun said the sage
To see life through many lenses, you choose the page.
So it is in the out yonder...across the cobalt blue
Orion pondering Big Ursa, what a spectacle to view
Silently they stare, brighter as the years speed by
Generations wondering, looking. Still asking why.

Thank you, Barb!

Thanks, John, for missing me in the picture! This is definitely a Big Brother shot! so lovingly embracing his siblings...what's all this nonsence about torture!

Nice tribute, Barb!

I love how the sky is the same every year on your birthday. Hail to Scorpio. Carrie is another one.
