a dog's life

It was a beautiful day in Lincoln yesterday. I couldn't resist the beseeching eyes of my daily companion, Calley. On the way to errands in Concord, we stopped at Mt. Misery for our favorite walk.

First we headed down the woodland trail to the Concord River (Thoreau Country) where she had a swim.

On the way back, we checked out the progress at Linden Tree Farm.

We were thirsty. After conferring, we decided Starbucks was an important next stop. Here is Calley enjoying her grande iced cold no ice artesian tap water. I had an iced latte. After that we were ready to hit the streets of Concord.

We gave a nod to John as we walked past the Concord Bookshop.

Wow, what fun you are having!
How about a book on getting the next dog after your dog dies....?
We had a conversation with a woman last night who was "forced" into taking an abused dog by her family...kids now won't bond, husband at work, she picking up the slack....Opportunity knocks around every corner.

it isn't always like this.
there was no time for a long walk yesterday.
I got home from a meeting last night to find
two library books chewed to shreds.

As with the case of Paul Revere and William Dawes, faced with the facts coming into conflict w/ the myth, print the myth!
Better day today? Yes?

Beautiful woods walk in the rain.
Now I'm off to New Hampshire for the dedication of the co-housing project David's office designed.
Dog alone. What havoc will she create? Time will tell.

I love the photos from your walk. Makes me miss the sights, sounds, smells and colors of New England.

Of course, this from rainy, dusty Hong Kong.

Also, thanks for the glimpse of the bookstore window in Concord. Wish we could be there to see it ourselves!

you are welcome, John,
I love walking by the bookstore window and seeing it.
I have to pinch myself.
"I KNOW him!!!" I whisper to myself.

Calley's come a long way since her days riding in the back of the car last year!

Ah, Sylvia!
Just what I was thinking.
I'm secretly wondering....
So, is Calley sleeping in the master bedroom yet?
But, I'm kind of reluctant to ask after recalling all the firm rules that were laid down.
Shhhhh. Patience.
Time will tell.
I wonder if Barby knows we're waching?

I am watching too! Calley in the front seat! Are you crazy! You should see the emergency break on Gretchen's car...Aussies chew!I just got my irrigation repaired and the guy says, "Ruth do you have a dog? Two of the new heads are chewed off." Yup. That'd be Bleu! But Bleu still rides in Gretchen's front seat....not Granny's though..."Get back! Bad dog!"

Love the tractor tilling between the rows. Love the bookstore shot of our beloved author!
