interlude

We sent some music out into the universe today. If the ancestors are going to hear it, surely this would be the platform from which to send it off. I loved sitting back and hearing Beethoven and Joplin fill this venerable space. We visited all the sites but for me this was the best.

Venerable indeed!

What a magnificent sight, I'm only sorry to miss the sound.

I'm sure Mom and Dad heard it and were proud of you both (Eliza for playing and you for figuring out how to get in there).

Absolutely magnificent!

I'm missing the where the there is too, but I do know it's Andover. (Clue#1) The challenge is on: next time we want sound in the blog!

Isn't it the chapel? Didn't Barb get married there? And I know there's a plaque in Pa's name on the wall.

Trying to dial in to universe radio to get the sound. Can just about hear the Joplin.

The award goes to the father/daughter team of JAM and SAM! As if having a book released by Random House wasn't enough for one day!

These photos were taken in the Cochrane Chapel on the PA campus where David and I were married and where we said our final good byes to Mom and Dad.

Where a plaque honors the "perceptive vision and quiet wisdom" of our dad.

Where the piano is amazing and the acoustics are incredible.

All heart.

Cochran Chapel! Oh wait, it's already been identified. I am so impressed that you played there, Eli. What an accomplishment! Yo Yo Ma played and Odetta spoke (sang?) on the same stage roughly 8 years ago...

It's a beautiful space in a beautiful place. I am glad that SAM saw fit to show it to me and to show me the plaque so that I can now visualize what it must have been like for Eliza to have played in there.

Now if I could only have heard the Joplin...
