stretch!

Another cedar tree in Portland, Oregon. Why do I love this image of kids hugging an old growth tree?

Love this too! We just don't have anything like these old growth trees in New England. Sigh! Guess we haven't been very good stewards...

It all begins with the children, doesn't it! I'm just working on making them "tree huggers"....could be a bad thing in middle school even here in Portlandia!

The British cut the old trees down in NEW ENGAND to use as masts for their ships. England had few trees due to the sheep that kept the landscape well mown! Old photographs of New England show it to be treeless after this harvest of the colony's great trees.

I too just love the trees in the west from Northern California to Washington.

Georgia O'Keefe loved the landscape in the West (e.g..South West) because it was not "all cluttered up" w/ trees.
Just another view...
